GLOBAL has become one of the success stories. Handcrafted at Yoshikin’s factory in Niigata – Japan, and to the most exacting standards, GLOBAL has attracted much praise over the years and has received numerous awards.

The first GLOBAL knives were designed in 1985 by Komin Yamada, whose aim was to develop a range of knives that was truly new and revolutionary, taking advantage of the best available materials and the most modern design concepts.

The GLOBAL knife range has been developed over many years and has over 50 different options, providing a specialist knife for every function in meal preparation.

Crafted in the tradition of Japanese samurai swords, GLOBAL has developed a range of kitchen utensils using the finest materials and latest manufacturing techniques that appeal to both the professional chef and home cook. Each knife is carefully weighted to ensure perfect balance in the hand, and the smooth contours and seamless construction offer safety and hygiene.

The most important feature of any knife is its edge, and the GLOBAL edge is truly its signature. Most GLOBAL knives are sharpened or ground on both sides of the blade and are made from the finest stainless steel – CROMOVA 18, ice-tempered and hardened to Rockwell C56°-58°, so they hold a sharp edge longer than any other steel and resist rust, stains and corrosion.
